Epic Eats: Haiku

Getting in on a little Foodie Friday action, let’s talk sushi. If you’ve been following this blog for a bit you will note that I had a hard time getting into sushi until my birthday 2 years ago and it’s been a developing taste for me since. Now, I found a local place that has great rolls, good prices, and a killer happy hour where many rolls are $2.99 so I get to try all kinds of new things. Fantastic.

Haiku at South Park Meadows has some pretty good sushi, especially for the price. They also have impressive selection that includes some rolls you just don’t see elsewhere. Did I mention they have a happy hour with $2.99 rolls M-F 4:30-6:30? Go get your roll on.

I went with a friend, who also ordered 5 rolls and we kinda sorta went sushi mad. Good choices from the cheapie menu: the crunchy roll, the snow crab roll, the spicy shrimp or tuna or salmon, and the dynamite roll. They also have octopus and squid on the cheapie menu so if you’ve ever wanted to try it but not spend an arm and a leg to see if you like it, it’s a great place and price to do that. They also have individual pieces on the cheapie list for $1.50 that are worth it.wpid-1389833877338.jpg

The smelt egg, the friend had never had one so naturally it was a must. wpid-1389833866275.jpg

This was ONE THIRD of the sushi we got for under $40.
